THANK YOU! According to Alexa Rankings,
you have made the KansasCityRealEstateReport.com web site the highest ranked real estate agent’s site in Kansas City!
What does it mean? Well, in short, we are good at providing people with useful information. This doesn’t happen by accident. Five years ago, we set out to build a website that would rise to the top of the internet. Ok, so we build 75 websites, and our original primary website, SteveKornspan.com did “crawl” to the top after a year or two. Now, it consistently ranks about number #4 among all KC real estate agent sites. That would have been OK for most agents, but # 4 just didn’t sit well with us.
Since we began our journey, we learned a lot about web marketing. There have been many technological advances and search engine algorithm changes as well. Experts chuckle when a “normal” person asks, “How can I make my website get to the top of the search engines?”. It’s like most things in life it is not “one” thing. It is the 100 things we do every day and they all need to be done properly to reach the top.
What does it mean to our clients? 90% of today’s home buyers go to the internet to find a home. We are proven experts at getting our clients homes seen on more websites and seen by more eyes than anyone else. As a matter of fact, google just found our listing on another foreign language site. I can’t even tell what language it is.
Also found the same real estate listing in Japanese.
Previously, I have seen our listings in Spanish and Chinese. If you told me five years ago my listings would be in multiple languages, I would have said you were crazy.
When it comes to internet marketing our rankings speak for themselves. Many agents claim to have an impressive internet marketing plan, but ask to see the numbers. What do they do to SEO (Search Engine Optimize) your home’s website? How do they tweak the listing to get better placement on Google Caffeine? Do they know what Google Caffeine is? How many custom web pages do they have for your home? Are they on authoritative websites? How do they capture the “long tail keywords”?
As hard as it is to believe, the largest brokerage firms in KC don’t even list their homes on the Kansas City Star’s Real Estate website! Even though it is FREE for the broker! The KC Star, a site that receives tens of thousands of home buyer’s per month. Ask an agent, if they know if their listings are on the KC Star Website?
Ask yourself, if I were selling my home, is it in my best interests to advertise my home on every place possible? Why wouldn’t an agent take advantage of every possible website? At least the free ones.
I am NOT criticizing anyone for the way they run their business. If a broker or agent does not use e
very technique available to sell their client’s home that is OK. Half of the marketing techniques we use are probably a waste of time and money anyway. But take a look at the Realtor Code of Ethics Article 1 – ” REALTORS® pledge themselves to protect and promote the interests of their client. This obligation to the client is primary…” Makes you wonder who’s interests are primary, doesn’t it?
